Risk Communication & Community Engagement (RCCE) – preparedness, response, and resilience.

S4P Group is a recognised actor in Risk Communication and Community Engagement, supporting both emergency response and longer-term preparedness and capacity strengthening.

Our RCCE work is grounded in trust-building, two-way communication, and community leadership, recognising that effective risk communication depends on credible messengers and locally trusted systems.

S4P has supported RCCE responses during COVID-19, Ebola, and Mpox, working with partners including UNICEF, USAID/ SBCA, and the Buganda Kingdom. Our approaches combined behavioural insight, culturally resonant messaging, rumour tracking, community dialogue, and rapid adaptation to evolving risk environments.

More recently, S4P led RCCE capacity strengthening for Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), resulting in the accreditation of community resource persons and the development of an online RCCE training course. This work shifted RCCE from ad hoc response to a structured, institutionalised capability.
